Transportation
Getting In Most airlines will provide flights to Tahiti. Once you've arrived, Air Tahiti flies several times a day to Bora Bora's airport, Motu Mute, which is a flat island on the north-western edge of the barrier reef. From there, transfer to accommodations located on other islands is done by boat. Some resorts send boats to pick up their guests, and other major resorts even have welcome desks in the terminal to greet you and steer you onto the correct boat. |
Getting Around Getting around in Bora Bora depends on the location of your accommodation. Majority of the resorts are located on small islands, and so the only mode of transportation is by boat or ferry. Accommodations located on the main island call for public transport, this includes buses and taxis. Hiring or renting a bicycle or a small buggy can also be an option if you plan to get around the island on your own. |
